The third annual 60/60 fundraiser at the Everson Museum of Art, presented by the Members’ Council, is set to introduce the Syracuse area to 60 artists creating 60 original works of art in 60 minutes on June 17 at 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Donna Coyle, from Manlius, will be taking part in the exciting event this year. In the allotted 60 minutes, artists will be challenged to work quickly to create and complete an original artwork for the Everson Museum.

Coyle, a substitute teacher in the Fayetteville-Manlius school district, discovered her ability to paint at OCC when studying with Lee Freeman. She continues to study art independently at Skylark Studios.

Coyle is experienced in photography and ceramics in addition to painting. She continues to create pottery at her local YMCA. She also describes herself as a storyteller, leading workshops, performing and writing projects.

“I have been taking art classes and making all kinds of art for many years. My parents and grandparents encouraged my two sisters and me with art. They sent us to the Everson for art lessons when it was located on James and State Street. Being creative was instilled in me at a young age,” said Coyle.

This will be her first year participating in the Everson fundraiser. When she first heard about 60/60 at a Social Art Club of CNY meeting, Coyle immediately took interest in participating.

Coyle is heavily involved in artistic activities, so she knew this event would be a terrific outlet for her creative energies. She loves to make all different kinds of artwork, but already has some specific images in mind for the event.

“I came up with an idea really quickly. I love spirals and snowy white owls, so I’m going to make a mixed media water color of my favorite images,” said Coyle.

The 60/60 fundraiser focuses on the creation and appreciation of art. Guests will be able to watch artworks created before their eyes, and a benefit drawing will allow a lucky guest to win a piece to take home with them.

The event is always exciting and full of the unexpected. With 60 artists and 60 unique pieces being created, guests will leave feeling inspired.

Admission to 60/60 is $30 per person. For more information or reservations, visit www.everson.org , call (315) 474-6064 or email Sarah Massestt, smassett@everson.org.
