SDN: Describe the experience of winning the Sammy Award with Anormous.
You know, I still haven’t really sat back and completely thought about it! Growing up I used to say that some day I would like to win one but honestly never thought I would! I have always loved music in so many forms. Hip hop being one of my favorites! So to win an award as prestigious as the Sammy in the category you really love and enjoy means a lot! I mean not only were we nominated for The Best “Hip Hop” CD but we were in the final 8 for peoples choice awards out of something like 160 bands that were originally nominated! So I can’t really thank the fans enough for the support on that! Anormous and myself have only been working as a real dual since 2009, So to accomplish all that we have in such a short time I feel very fortunate!
SDN: Where have you performed?
All over Syracuse around SU, Auburn, Ithaca…
SDN: Do you have any upcoming shows?
Doing a charity event March 21st at:
THE DETERMINATION CENTER OF CNY INC.
1654 W. ONONDAGA STREET
Syracuse, NY
Then, March 25th 8pm Le Moyne College Plaza, with T-HOOT and Kristin P!
SDN: What are your songs about?
I released my first single that is called “I Get Bizzy’ which was just released last Friday. This song is basically themed around hard work and well just getting Bizzy! Keep an eye out for the music video coming real soon!!!I really like to have things in my music I can really relate to. Not talk about something that is not really me, you can always however make a track about something you might want to speak on or get your view out on!
SDN: What have you learned from other musicians and artists?
I mean I have learned from a lot of them just watching what they do and don’t do! How those things impact their careers.
SDN: How do you feel about the music scene in Syracuse?
I like it the whole scene and I enjoy much more than just Hip Hop shows! I wish I could attend a lot more local artists shows. There is a huge talent pool out here!
SDN: How do you feel about the people downtown / at gas stations in CNY who give their rap CDs out for ‘donations’? Do you think they hurt local music ?
I wouldn’t say they hurt hip hop if they do it the right way and are respectable! Anyone trying to get their music out and heard I definitely respect that! Just be respectable with your presentation and how you approach a potential fan!

like the site maybe a image?
As a former Central New York musician and promoter I feel R Source is the type of artist the Syracuse area should respect and promote!
Through out the years I have seen way too much talent leave the area to follow their dreams in the music business. Even though I now live in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area I still try to catch R Source’s weekly show on Z89 internet streaming Sunday nights. The Source works hard to give local artists air time and concert opportunities !
We can use more great entertainment promoters in CNY.
